    This is a remote, work from home position within the US

    Science 37 is accelerating the research and development of breakthrough biomedical treatments by bringing clinical trials to patients' homes. To help us achieve our goal, we are seeking a razor-sharp Instructional Designer eager to make an impact within a mission-driven organization.

    The Instructional Designer will be responsible for delivering best in class eLearning content for multiple roles that are involved in clinical research.  This position will play a key role in supporting the Training and Education team, working closely with other Instructional Designers and under the direction of the Manager of Training and Education.


    Duties include but may not be limited to:

    1. Plan, design and deliver both standard and study specific eLearning content and other training related materials for use in Clinical Trials.
    2. Analyze learning objectives with program requirements and determine appropriate assessment techniques to ensure learner comprehension and proper engagement.
    3. Immerse in Science 37 services, programs, platforms and systems to ensure content is comprehensive, relevant and learner centric. 
    4. Develop role-based training for multiple target audiences within and supporting the clinical research study.
    5. Create competency-based platform training that incorporates multiple instructional design techniques.
    6. Collaborate with SMEs to determine instructional requirements and implement training solutions for the adult-learner.
    7. Maintain overview of deliverables and ensure on time deployment of content.
    8. Maintain overview of content library and version control of all deployed courses and content. 
    9. Ensure content delivery is in accordance with the study Training Plan.
    10. Collaborate with the team and Manager to provide feedback on process improvement, workflows, and strategic development.
    11. Support documentation of system and processes.
    12. Conduct quality control checks on curriculum setup and course deployment. 
    13. Perform additional project tasks as determined by department and organizational needs.
    14. Assisting in administrative and regulatory tasks as needed.

    Comprehensive Duties:

    1. Participate in required training and education programs. 
    2. Represent Science 37 in a professional manner; establish and maintain good relationships with other Science 37 teams and study personnel.
    3. Other duties, as assigned.



    1. Bachelor’s degree is required; Instructional Design, Education Technology, technology, healthcare, or science related field a bonus.
    2. 1-5+ years of experience with adult-learning and instructional design. 
    3. Experience creating customer-facing eLearning material a bonus.
    4. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, meet deadlines, and delivery quality eLearning programs.
    5. Experience with Photo imaging, Adobe Suite, video software, Articulate Suite, Camtasia, is a bonus.
    6. Medical experience/familiarity with terminology - medical, nursing or allied health professions education, healthcare certification or previous employment in healthcare or clinical research setting is a bonus.
    7. Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
    8. Must have the ability to conduct collaborative interaction with cross functional team members.
    9. High degree of computer and software proficiency in Google Suite and MS Office.
    10. Access to dependable high-speed internet at an average of 45Mbps+ (no hotspots). Hard wire connection recommended if available. If on wi-fi must have an average download high speed of 45Mbps+
    11. Landline or cell phone (as backup).
    12. Access to a private workspace/desk or home office to work from that is free of background noise and distractions.


    1. Strong communication and presentation skills - Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with project team members. 
    2. Computer skills - Working knowledge of MS Office suite and Google applications. Ability to generate business correspondence, create forms and generate reports as required. Willingness to gain expertise in the use of proprietary software. 
    3. Practices professionalism and integrity in all actions – Ability to foster concepts of teamwork, cooperation, social and self-awareness, and flexibility to get complete assigned tasks. Demonstrates adaptation to a rapidly changing work environment. Able to successfully work in a decentralized team environment. Skilled in situational responsive decision-making.


    1. Up to 20% travel, as needed, for training, project team meetings, client presentations and other professional meetings/conferences as needed.
    2. Ability to communicate in English (both verbal and written); fluency in other languages is a plus.
    3. May require extended or unusual work hours based on research requirements and business needs. 


    The incumbent works under the direction of the Senior Director and the Manager of Training and Education.  Incumbent is expected to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
