Learn from our expert presenters about the impact of the pandemic on various populations, our economy, and the future of the job market.

Panelists:

Ed Samuel is a Career Coach, Author, Radio Host, certified Assessment Consultant Team leader, Ministry leader and founder of SamNova, Inc. (www.samnovainc.com) based in Kennett Square, PA. His team's focus is to "Optimize Careers" for those who are working or in job transition across multiple functions and industries across the US. Services include extensive career assessments, resume writing, LinkedIn branding, 1-on-1 job transition support, targeted job searches, attacking the hidden job market, landing a job at 55+ and those looking to make a career pivot. He is an author of a highly praised book called, "Optimize Your Resume - Dos and Don'ts". Ed has led 200+ executive networking and small business forums. His Philadelphia radio program on 1180 am WFYL can be heard on Saturday mornings. Ed is a requested speaker on career optimization by leading University Alumni forums, professional industry organizations, and job/career networking groups. He is frequently on regional and national cable, TV and radio programs. H was recently interviewed by Sterling Consultants in England. Ed has 25+ years of corporate experience at multi-billion-dollar firms to leading edge technology start-ups and extensive recruiting experience before launching his own career coaching practice 15 years ago. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Wilmington University.

Paul Sloate is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Green Drake Advisors. He has spent over 30 years advising families, individuals, businesses, and institutions on wealth management, wealth planning, and global economics, serving in senior roles with companies such as Wellington Management and BlackRock Financial Management. Mr. Sloate has appeared on TV on numerous occasions to share his expertise with the public and hosted Money Matters TV for many years. In addition to his time given to sharing his knowledge, Mr. Sloate has served on industry bodies such as the Financial Accounting Policy Committee of the Association for Investment Management & Research. Paul earned a BA in History and Economics from Cornell University and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Mary Beth Wood joined the Wayne Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO) in September 2001 and was appointed Executive Director in November 2006. As the director of a small, rural EDC, Mary Beth works on all facets of a project, including strategic development, grant administration, and project management. Significant projects include the Sterling Business & Technology Park, The Stourbridge Project (business incubator), and Wayne County Recovery-to-Work Project. Mary Beth has helped to bring over $8 million in grant funds and over $8.5 million in public financing to community, workforce, and job creation projects in Wayne County. Prior to her work at WEDCO, she was an instructor for adult-based learning at a private licensed school in Wayne County. She teamed with the administrative staff to implement the mission of the small career development center, designed educational programs, and directed student career advancement. She represents Wayne County on numerous Boards, including and the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association, Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance, and the Pocono Counties Workforce Development Board. Mary Beth earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA.
