Partner Event - Delaware SHRM - Webinar - RCSA: THE CORNERSTONE OF AN EFFECTIVE HR RISK & COMPLIANCE PROGRAM

  • Thu, November 11, 2021
  • 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Online

Description:

Every effective HR Risk & Compliance program is a partnership of accountability that oversees and manages risks and compliance related to external regulations and department operations. This session will focus on: the purpose and benefits of conducting a risk and control self-assessment (RCSA), a “how-to” of conducting the RCSA, testing of HR internal controls, and issues management.

The RCSA is a methodology for assessing the inherent risk associated with HR activities and processes, the internal controls in place to support them, and the effectiveness of these controls. The assessment helps identify where key exposures exist and helps to guide HR’s focus in remediating issues. Regular testing of processes and controls ensures that what we say we are doing in HR, is actually being done. Issues management is vital when gaps in processes and controls are discovered. Issues management is a process for the prompt identification, remediation, and escalation of issues, and subsequent monitoring. During the interactive session, we will complete an RCSA and develop testing procedures to determine compliance with two federal employment laws.

Learning Objectives:

  • Analyze operational risks to identify and make recommendations for process or control changes.
  • Develop testing plans to test internal controls.
  • Identify, remediate, and monitor issues found in HR processes/control gaps.
