    Position Summary

    The Senior ID / Captivate Developer is a dedicated resource responsible for working closely with clients to conceptualize, design/write and develop highly interactive learning solutions (e.g., e-learning, instructor-led training, blended solutions) in Captivate, Camtasia and Adobe Creative Suite that target learning objectives and improve performance. The Senior ID / Captivate Developer serves as an innovator of instructional design approaches.

    PDG is seeking a 1099 Contract Senior ID who will work onsite at the client’s location in Malvern, PA,from September through the end of the calendar year with the potential for the contract to renew and some work from home flex.


    The Senior ID will:

    • Instructional design expertise; ability to design learning solutions from scratch and build them out
    • Technical expertise to support learning solution build-out as appropriate
    • Action-oriented; able to quickly iterate, estimate task duration, and meet assigned deadlines
    • Communicate across teams reading project status to internal and customer stakeholders
    • Identify risks to project cost/quality/schedule and customer satisfaction and mitigate or escalate as appropriate
    • Focus on quality as project deliverables are c-suite visible and high-profile projects
    • Author and create instructional strategies based on client need
    • Create training content using custom storyboard templates
    • Provide guidance and specialized knowledge to other members of the team
    • Develop alliances and working relationships with subject matter experts
    • Work cross-functionally with creative and technical departments to build client solutions
    • Develop and participate in system and user acceptance testing
    • Seek out new and creative ways to develop leading-edge designs and learning solution development
    • Keep abreast and recommend new design methodologies and innovative approaches

    Requirements Education and Professional Experience 

    The Senior ID has: • 

    • B.A. in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Design, English, Journalism, or related field
    • M.Ed. or M.S. in Instructional Design or commensurate experience a plus
    • At least six years of experience developing custom training solutions
    • Project Management experience preferred 
    General Knowledge and Skills The Senior ID has/can:
    • Strong instructional design skills
    • Explain and apply current instructional systems design theories, methodologies, and best practices
    • Use multimedia and web-based applications to design training solutions using: Captivate, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Suite – preferred
    • Develop storyboards, scripts, and assessment tools • Translate written content into visual descriptions (graphics, animations, interactive charts and graphs, video-based scenarios)
    • Maintain strong client relationships, both internally and externally
    • Exhibit strong problem-solving and business acumen skills
    • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication skills
    • Thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven organization
    • Adapt quickly and easily to changing requirements and needs from internal and external clients
    • Manage multiple priorities and project deadlines, including tracking and managing numerous project hours and budgets
    • Respond to and modify recommendations in the moment, based on observing and reading client reactions
    • Work independently as well as collaboratively
    • Ensure content accuracy and appropriateness
    • Interact with senior-level personnel in a client setting
    • Work as a team player
    • Use Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio with minimal support
